What will the semen screen and blood screen results look like?
A semen or blood screen report will list the items which were tested and will indicate if they were positive or negative for the tested substance.
What will the DNA results indicate?
A DNA report will list the items tested, provide a DNA profile for each item and if a comparison item has been provided, the report will indicate if the samples match each other and if so, the probability that they come from the same person. A DNA report will also indicate if a given item contained the DNA from one or more individuals and when possible, it will provide gender information.
Will the results be accepted in a legal matter?
All forensic testing conducted in a non-criminal case will be on a Curiosity basis only. The results are not usually used in legal matters although there may be exceptions, depending on who submits the evidence and the sufficiency of the Chain of Custody.
Do I have to receive my results by mail?
While we prefer to send a written report, we understand that due to the nature of the testing, individuals may wish instead to receive their results by e-mail.
