DNA Kinship Test - The results of a kinship test can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the test and the DNA technology that is used in the analysis. All results will contain the following information:
-
Names of Tested Parties (if court ready test)
-
Date of Specimen Collection for each Tested Party
-
A listing of the individual DNA profiles for each Tested Party
-
A Statement of the alleged relationship and the testing assumptions
-
A Combined Kinship Index
-
A Probability of Kinship
-
A statement of Conclusion
Please note that it is impossible to guarantee that a DNA kinship test will be conclusive. There are certain results which are too low for our scientific staff to conclusively say if the individuals are related or not. However typically if the test is conducted with at least 3 known first degree relatives of the deceased individual, the results will generally be conclusive. It is therefore important to consult with our customer service associates at the outset to determine who is available for testing and which combination of individuals is most likely to generate conclusive results.
