For a standard* DNA paternity test, Orchid Cellmark will release results within 5 business days of the receipt of the last sample for a case. The paternity test report will indicate a probability of paternity of either 0.00% or 99.99% on average. The reports will include: 
 

• Names of Tested Parties (for Court Ready Reports only) 
• Date of Specimen Collection for each Tested Party
• A listing of the individual DNA profiles for each Tested Party
• A Combined Paternity Index
• A Probability of Paternity
• A statement of conclusion
   

A Court Ready report will be accepted in any legal matter.

A Curiosity Report will not be accepted in a legal matter and will contain an additional statement as follows:

“Orchid Cellmark expressly disclaims any and all responsibility regarding the identity of the above named individuals. The specimens were not collected in accordance with standard chain-of-custody procedures. This DNA result is not admissible in a court of law or any other judicial, administrative or quasi-legal hearing and is intended for informational purposes only.”

* Please note that a "standard" DNA paternity test involves testing of cheek swabs from a mother, child and alleged father. If the mother is not tested, if there is more than one child or if samples other than cheek swabs are tested, the results may take longer.
